Objectives: удосконалювати навички усного мовлення і аудіювання, вживання лексичних одиниць;
формувати навички вживання модальних дієслів у писемному і усному мовленні;розвивати мовну здогадку і мовленнєву реакцію учнів; виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань.

            Greetings.

T.: I’m great, thank you. I’m glad to see you. Let’s start our lesson.

Warm-up:
T.: Do you want to know as much as possible about things around us?
How do you usually get information about the world?
Reviewing the previous material.

Main Part:
1.      Read the text and guess the missing words:
In … you learn about nature: all living creatures an our planet – plants, animals, people. You learn what they eat, where they live, how they grow. You can do some experiments.
In …you learn about the things and people from the past. You can hear fascinating stories about what life was like before. You read about heroes and battles. But you must learn some years, too.
In … you really have fun because you play different sports. You need special clothes. You are in the gym or on the playground
In … you learn about our planet, about other planets, and stars. You can also learn about lakes, mountains, continents, rivers, countries. You need a map or a globe.
In …you work with numbers. You do different calculations, You subtract numbers, add numbers, divide or multiply numbers.
In … you learn everything about computers and how to use them. You can chat with your friends, find interesting information on the internet or play games/.

e.g.      You learn about the things and people from the past in Geography.

                        You do sums and work with numbers in Religion.
6.      Group work
Join into two teams.  The team which is faster is the winner. Do calculations as quicker as possible.
e.g. 49 divide 7, add 3, multiply 5, subtract 10 is…(40)
Grammar/ Modal verbs.  Do not use “to” with modal verbs.
7.      Writing.
Make up rules for school. What students must or mustn’t do at school. Use modal verbs.
e.g.      You must not run in the classroom.
You have to do your homework.
You can play volleyball in the gym.
8.      Pair work. Answer the questions about your school.
e.g.            Are there more than 30 pupils in your school?
                        Is there a sports ground in your school?
                        Is there a canteen on the first floor of your school?
Home task: WB Ex. 5 p 50; learn modal verbs, rule p.49 .
